Alright alright alright! Photos of the mess. Our beautiful little house was built 50 years ago by master Island craftsman James Mace. He also built a church downtown and other homes around the Island. The timbers used to build our house were clear cut from this property. (yes clear cut. Settle down, it was a long time ago) The beam that runs through the center of the house is 10 inches thick by 18 inches high. The whole house is rough cut fir. This stuff turns to cement after a few years. Our contractors had to go around some beams because it was impossible to go through them! This house has been through many earthquakes (one of them a whopper) and still remains perfectly level. The property is beautiful. Every room as a view. What it didn't have was a good use of space.
